There's plenty to do during your stay at Giraffe Manor, as the area offers great insights into Kenya's diverse landscape and wildlife. Visitors can enjoy the Karen Blixen Museum in the former home of "Out of Africa" author Karen Blixen. The museum is located 10 km outside of Nairobi and is a great place to spend some time after your Giraffe Manor visit.
The museum house remains a serene setting that seems to belong to the past, surrounded by a tranquil garden and native forest, with a magnificent view of Karen's beloved Ngong Hills. She pays tribute to the hills by saying 'I had a farm in Africa at the foot of the Ngong Hills'.

It is also possible to visit Nairobi National Park to see and admire the beauty and richness of Kenya's wildlife scene. The park, which is Kenya's first game reserve, is home to one of the most successful black rhino sanctuaries in the country. After your game drive in the park, you can also join the Nairobi Animal Orphanage pay a visit. The orphanage is home to a wide variety of wildlife including lions, jackals, serval cats, rare Sokoke cats, warthogs, leopards, monkeys, baboons and buffalo.
