Climate in Indonesia: Packing list for each season
Indonesia is located in the tropics and has a tropical, humid climate with year-round rainfall in the northwestern part. The southern part has an alternating humid, tropical monsoon climate. Due to the size of the country, the climate varies from region to region. The seasons are divided into the rainy season from November to April and the dry season from May to October. Temperatures vary between 25 °C and 35 °C throughout the year. The water has pleasant temperatures between 25 °C and 28 °C. Due to high humidity of up to 90-95 %, it is very humid in Indonesia.
Indonesia is also affected by climate change and the weather is constantly changing. Thus, it may rain for a week even during the dry season or be dry during the rainy season.
Dry season in Indonesia
In the dry season from April/May to October/November the temperatures are milder and the humidity is lower than in the rainy season. Thus, the time is particularly suitable for island hopping. The sea is calm and not as stormy as in the rainy season. These months are the best time to experience most of the popular activities, such as diving, swimming, hiking, surfing, scooter riding and sunset watching.

Indonesia rainy season
The rainy season is from October to April. This season has especially short and heavy rain showers, which usually occur in the late afternoon or evening. Here, the region generally seems a bit calmer, as it is not the main travel season. Even in the rainy season, Indonesia is absolutely worth a trip, as nature starts to sprout and the waterfalls are even more impressive than usual.

Recommended vaccinations
There are no compulsory vaccinations for direct entry from Germany.
For your trip to Indonesia is generally recommended a vaccination protection or immunity against: Hepatitis A and Poliomyelitis, for long-term stays or special exposure also against Hepatitis B, Typhoid, Rabies and Japanese Encephalitis.
Make sure that your standard immunizations are according to the vaccination calendar of the Robert-Koch-Institute are up to date.
