For information on the weather in Mongolia you can read the article on the Best time to travel in Mongolia, which will introduce you to the different seasons and the weather in the different regions of Mongolia.
Due to its location in the Central Asian highlands, Mongolia is characterized by a continental climate. The seasons of spring and autumn last only a few weeks, while the summers are long, hot and humid. Winter in Mongolia, on the other hand, is known for its arctic cold temperatures, which, however, is characterized by a dry air.
Recommended vaccinations
For your trip to Mongolia is generally recommended a vaccination protection or immunity against: Hepatitis A and rabies, for long-term stays or special exposure also against hepatitis B, typhoid, and meningococcal disease (ACWY) and TBE.
Make sure that your standard immunizations are according to the vaccination calendar of the Robert-Koch-Institute are up to date.
Conclusion
On a round trip it is always advisable to have some lighter luggage with you. So also here applies: less is more. The important travel documents such as passport, airline tickets, some cash, possibly visa (if you do not come from Europe) should not be missing, of course, and you should also be equipped for warm days and cooler nights. It also leaves more room for any travel souvenirs for your loved ones at home who may run into you.
