Established in 1989, this national park is not only one of the largest, but also the oldest national park in Myanmar. What many people do not know is that one of Buddha's disciples is buried in this park. Therefore, the place also serves as a pilgrimage site for many believers every year. The park is home to many protected species. The islands located in the Lampi Marine National Park are officially open to tourism, but many are still largely undetected. A special feature of the park is the fact that you can get there with a very special indigenous people can fish together. These fishermen catch their prey not with nets but with spears. Other activities that can be done in the national park are hiking and kayaking tours.

Lenya National Park

The Lenya National Park is a protected area of Myanmar that has been in planning for quite some time. It is located in the south of the country on the border with Thailand and covers an area of almost 1,800 square kilometers. Especially for ornithologists the Lenya National Park is a paradise. Here, for example, the golden-throated pitta can still be seen, which unfortunately is one of the most endangered bird species in the world.
