Zarafshan Nature Reserve / Zarafshan National Park
The park has a total area of 2,352 hectares and was established in 1975. Zarafshan National Park has its own flora and fauna, which is characterized by forests and rivers. Special birds that can be encountered here are the heron, white stork, Zarafshan pheasant, black grouse, demoiselle crane and various wading birds. The national park is located in the very east of the country.
Kitab nature reserve
The Kitab geological reserve can rightly be called a natural monument. The fossilized imprints of fossil animals and plants can be found here. On various hiking routes, it lets you travel almost 120 to 140 million years into the past. The reserve also houses a museum as well as a hotel and other amenities.
