The ultimate sailing packing list - What do I need to pack?

You want to make a sailing trip in Greece and ask yourself: What do I need to pack? We have put together the perfect packing list for your Greece sailing trip. 

Checklist travel documents

1. Valid identity card/passport (check validity and renew if necessary)
2. Copy of identity card/passport (save digitally or keep separately from original)
3. Insurance certificate health insurance abroad (online)
4. Vaccination card (check if you need to refresh your vaccinations)
5. Flight ticket (printout or e-ticket)
6. EC card and/or travel credit card
7. Cash
8. List of emergency contacts and allergies, if applicable.
9. Optional: Boat license and radio license (e.g. SBF See, SKS, SRC)

1. Soft bag, Duffel bag* or Dry Bag (no fixed suitcase!, storage space is limited)
2. Day backpack (make sure your hand luggage measures 55x40x20cm for the plane)
3. Sunglasses (possibly with ribbon)
4. Earplugs / earplugs
5. Sleep mask
6. Books/Magazines
7. Headgear/Cap
8. Optional: Sailor's knife or combination tool (only in check-in luggage!)

Checklist Environmentally Conscious Travel 

With these little things you can actively help to avoid plastic in Greece and simply make your contribution to environmental protection:

1. Reusable Silicone tubes* filled with your shampoo, conditioner, shower gel
2. Reusable bottle (preferably stainless steel for hot and cold)
3. Optional: Reusable cup (preferably stainless steel for hot and cold).
4. Optional: stainless steel outdoor cutlery (knife, spoon, fork, chopsticks, straw)

Packing List Sailing: Clothing and shoes

1. Underwear
2. Thin socks
3. Pajamas/sleepwear
4. T-Shirts
5. Long sleeve airy shirts

7. Long, light trousers

9. Beach dress/beach outfit
10. Light oilskin or windproof rain jacket and rain pants

Recommended vaccinations

There are no compulsory vaccinations for direct entry from Germany. However, we strongly recommend a rabies vaccination - especially in case of contact with wild animals. In case of entry from a yellow fever area or stay of more than twelve hours in transit of a yellow fever area, all persons from the age of one year must prove a yellow fever vaccination.

For trips of less than four weeks, you should have a full poliomyelitis (polio) vaccination. Make sure that your standard immunizations are according to the vaccination calendar of the Robert-Koch-Institute are up to date.

Conclusion

Basically, less is more. Of course, the important documents such as passport and visa must not be missing. With light luggage it is easy and easier to travel. In addition, with a light suitcase on the outbound flight, there is more space for travel souvenirs during the trip.
