Many refugees from Ukraine also arrive in Germany. To help them in the first days, there are numerous aid projects. Shelter, food, organization - there are challenges for volunteers in many areas. Here you can find out where you can lend a hand yourself.
Germany-wide
Leave no one behind
Under the well-known motto "Leave no one behind", refugees can be accommodated on the Ukrainian side of LNOB be helped. For this purpose, the website offers many options, depending on what the individual can offer.
This can be:

- Help with translations (Ukrainian/Russian)

Berlin
Most refugees arriving in Germany are currently arriving in Berlin by train. For this purpose, Deutsche Bahn provides corresponding routes free of charge. Therefore, volunteering is especially important here right now. If you live in another city, feel free to look below for opportunities in your city.
City mission and Unionhilfswerk
The Stadtmission and the Unionhilfswerk distribute food, offer language mediation and help for arriving refugees. Here, too, support is now needed due to the large number of people. Anyone who wants to participate can write an email to:
Telegram groups
In telegram groups, people organize themselves to offer uncomplicated help. In the group Kreuzberg helps help is organized and coordinated on a daily basis. Join the group and lend a hand on site.

Donation Bridge Ukraine
The action Donation Bridge Ukraine collects donations in kind at several acceptance points, including the former Tempelhof Airport. In addition to donations in kind, support is also sought from volunteers. At the moment, there is a need for, among other things: Acceptance, sorting, preparation for shipment, administrative support and driving services.
LSVD
The LSVD offers a mentoring program for queer refugees. They take time and support refugees who feel they belong to the LGBTQ* community. Anyone who would like to help here can register on the page of the LSVD report
Humanistic: House of refuge
The Humanist Association Berlin-Brandenburg is converting a hotel in Prenzlauer Berg into a refuge for refugees. Here, quick help is requested.

Darmstadt
The city asks for offers of housing and assistance. These can be sent centrally to the e-mail address below and will then be forwarded so that they reach the refugees.
Frankfurt on the Main
Here, too, the search is on for accommodations and living space; currently, more than 700 refugees have already arrived in the city. You can use the following e-mail addresses to register living space that you would like to make available:
Anyone who would like to get actively involved can leave their contact details with the City of Frankfurt's coordination office "Frankfurt hilft". The initiative will approach helpers as soon as the expected refugees arrive in Frankfurt.

At the Bavarian State Ministry for Integration, volunteers can assist throughout the state with translations, transportation services or housing. In Fürth, the volunteer initiative organizes Frankenkonvoi on Facebook. Here, food and donations in kind are brought directly to people in need.
Nuremberg
Helpers of any kind can contact the staff office at Civic engagement register with the Department for Youth, Family and Social Affairs. In this way, as many refugees as possible can be helped centrally.
