Arrival
Arrival: Bishkek Airport (FRU)
Please remember to book your flights separately. Plan your arrival so you will arrive at the airport by afternoon to start our Kyrgyzstan adventure together in the evening.
Arrival
Day 1
Day 1: Welcome to Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek)
Upon arrival at the airport, a shuttle will take you to your hotel. If you arrive early, you can use the day to relax or explore the city on your own. In the evening we will meet for our welcome dinner and get to know each other. After a good night's rest, we will drive to our yurt camp the next day.
Day 1
Day 2
Day 2: Build your own yurt before hunting with eagles (Bokonbayevo)
Today we will drive to a real yurt camp, located on the southern shore of the salty Issyk-Kul Lake. It is the seventh deepest lake in the world and Issyk-Kul means "warm lake" in the Kyrgyz language. Quite a paradox, since it is surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Nevertheless, it never freezes over. At Lake Issyk-Kul there is an exclusive demonstration of how yurts are made, in which the whole group participates. This will be done by a local master from Kyzyl-Tuu village, a village famous for making traditional Kyrgyz yurts. Since eagle hunting is a part of the ancient culture of nomadic civilizations, we can't wait to show you what it's all about. The ancient tradition of eagle hunting was born in Central Asia and nomads started taming these birds thousands of years ago to acquire food and skins during the winter months. Nowadays this tradition is slowly disappearing and Kyrgyzstan is one of the few countries where a few experienced hunters keep this ancient tradition alive. Ruslan, a well-known professional eagle hunter, owns his own eagles and will demonstrate to you how eagles would hunt in the wild. Since we are staying in the yurt camp, we will have dinner here as well.
Day 2
Day 3
Day 3: Fairy tale landscape & the legend of the seven bulls (Karakol)
On the third day our journey will take us to Karakol, which is located on the south coast. On the way there we have the opportunity to visit Fairytale Canyon, a breathtaking and mystical place, so called due to its bizarre mars-like landscape. Some formations look like snakes, dragons or even like the Great Wall of China. From the canyon we can enjoy a majestic panorama of Lake Issyk-Kul. Karakol is one of the largest cities in Kyrgyzstan. It is known for its fascinating history and one of the most interesting cultural and culinary destinations in Kyrgyzstan. Next we head to the village of Svetlaya Polyana. Here you will have the opportunity to ride in the most beautiful and untouched nature of Kyrgyzstan to see the famous Seven Bulls rocks or Jeti-Oguz rocks. The name is derived from the resemblance to seven bulls, and the rocks are an important symbol of Kyrgyz culture. Their size, color and aura will take your breath away. After a day full of new experiences and impressions we will return to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 3
Day 4
Day 4: The abandoned ghost town & hot springs (Engilchek)
Today our adventure will take us to the abandoned ghost town of Engilchek on an off-road tour over the Chon Ashuu Pass at 3822m. Due to unemployment, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the town was abandoned and you can see the ruins of houses, playgrounds and an airfield on a walk. However, about 20 families still live in the town today, with the aim of giving Engilcheck a new life. There is even a small school for the children, for which we will get some gifts on the way. Chon-Ashuu Pass is one of the highest mountain roads in the country. It is a unique place with beautiful scenery and amazing hot springs. Today you will have the opportunity to take a bath in them. An incredible experience that only few could enjoy before you. After that we will go back to Karakol and to our hotel for dinner.
Day 4
Day 5
Day 5: Trekking tour to Ala-Kul Lake (Ala-Kul)
For today we have planned an unforgettable and extraordinary trekking tour to the beautiful and unique glacial lake Ala-Kul. Ala-Kul Lake means "colorful lake" and impresses with its bright turquoise water and the impressive surrounding mountains. This full day trekking tour can be quite challenging as it takes about 8-10 hours to climb up and down the mountainous region. It is one of the most remote sights in Kyrgyzstan. But no need to worry! We will take breaks in between. But it's worth every step of the way, so don't forget to pack your hiking boots. Ala-Kul Lake is located at an altitude of 3533m and is a lake dammed by rocks, which makes this trekking tour an unforgettable experience. Nevertheless, as an alternative, we would like to offer you to stay in Karakol valley and enjoy the day exploring at the base camp. In the evening we will all return to our hotel together for dinner.
Day 5
Day 6
Day 6: Edelweiss & lunch with a Kyrgyz family (Song-Kul)
Today our tour will take us from Karakol to Song-Kul Lake, which is located west of Issyk-Kul Lake. Our first stop will be in Kochkor, a base that offers well-developed infrastructure. In Kochkor you will get a taste of local life. Today you will have the unique experience of having lunch with a local family. You will not be able to taste anything more local and Kyrgyz. Well-fed, we will continue our way to Song-Kul Lake, where we will cross Kalmak-Ashu Pass, which is located at an altitude of 3447m. The area and its nature is unique. Untouched by humans you will find dry deserts and lush meadows side by side. Maybe you will manage to pick the famous edelweiss and take it home with you. After arriving at Song-Kul Lake, we will spend the night and have dinner. Song-Kul Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Kyrgyzstan and the second largest lake in Kyrgyzstan after Issyk Kul Lake (salt water). Since it is relatively inaccessible, this experience will also be something you will remember for a very long time.
Day 6
Day 7
Day 7: Lush nature and a traditional folklore show (Bishkek)
Today we will make a trekking tour to the top of Tuz Ashuu Pass. From here you can enjoy a panoramic view of the south side of Song Kul Lake, Kilemche Jailoo, and the colorful and impressive mountains of the opposite ridge. The name Kilemche Jailoo translates to "carpet-like" and comes from its covering of thick, vibrant grass. You can often see nomadic herders in the summer, as the conditions here are perfect. For lunch we will stop in Kochkor village before driving to Bishkek, where we will visit the city and its main sights. Bishkek is the largest city and the capital of Kyrgyzstan and is famous for its marble-clad public buildings. You will be impressed by the Soviet architecture and culture that can be found here. On your last evening in Kyrgyzstan, we have a festive dinner planned at a traditional Kyrgyz-style restaurant before attending a traditional folk show. After a long day of nature and Kyrgyz traditions, we will head back to the hotel.
Day 7
Day 8
Day 8: Goodbye Kyrgyzstan! (Bishkek)

We look forward to welcoming you back!
