You have the option to book your flights separately or contact us quickly and easily via WhatsApp for a personal flight quote. If you book your flight separately, please plan your arrival so that you arrive at the airport by afternoon to start our Finland adventure together.
Please note that we only organize one inclusive transfer for the arrival. The time depends on the arrival times of the group and is determined individually for each trip.
When you arrive at the airport, our English-speaking tour guide will be waiting for you. On the drive to our first accommodation, we make a stopover in the town of Levi to do some shopping together for the next few days. After a short drive through the snow-covered landscape, we arrive at our accommodation. The resort is located directly on the shores of Lake Vuontisjärvi and we move into our cabins for the next few nights. In the evening, you can get to know your fellow travelers better over a welcome dinner. Depending on the arrival times of the group, the welcome dinner will take place either in Levi or in your first accommodation.

Your highlight today: Hike through nature on snowshoes and try your hand at ice fishing
Today you have the day to get used to the outdoors and familiarize yourself with snowshoes and skis. After breakfast together, which we prepare from our purchases, you will receive your rental sets for winter clothing. We strap on our snowshoes and/or skis for the first time and set off on a tour through the snow-covered landscape. For lunch, we gather around an open fire in a cozy "kota" - an authentic Lappish tipi. While you enjoy your meal, your guide will tell you about the rights and duties of each individual and you will learn interesting facts about Finnish nature. The length of the tour depends entirely on your personal fitness and, of course, on the weather conditions and daylight. If time permits, we will also have the opportunity to try our hand at ice fishing today (otherwise we will do this in Äkäslompolo)! On a frozen lake, we use special tools to drill a hole in the thick layer of ice and try our luck - patience is required. Of course, ice fishing is only possible for us if we can be sure that the layer of ice on the lake is thick enough and that we can enter it without danger. After dinner, it's time to pack, because tomorrow morning we set off on our exciting adventure in the wilderness. For the next two days, we will only take the most important things with us and store the rest in our current accommodation until we return from our adventure in the wilderness. In the evening we can relax in the sauna.

Snowshoe and ski tour depending on fitness level and weather conditions

Your highlights today: Explore Pallas-Ylläs National Park and watch the Northern Lights
After a home-cooked breakfast, we make our way to the border of the Pallas-Ylläs National Park. From here we will ski and snowshoe to our accommodation today. On the flat it is easy to ski, but when going uphill or downhill it is better to use the snowshoes. On the way, we stop to enjoy lunch by an open fire in a traditional Finnish "kota". As we will cover part of the route in the dark, we should definitely take our headlamps with us.
When we arrive at the hut, we all work together to prepare the hut for our stay. This includes making the fire, preparing the food, washing up, etc. The next two days are all about teamwork!
The hut has neither running water nor electricity and offers a real wilderness experience. With a bit of luck, we may catch a glimpse of the majestic Northern Lights today and end the evening comfortably in our warm sleeping bags. There is also the option of spending the night in a tent outside the hut in a sleeping bag. Our guide will help us with this, as it is a unique experience in the wilderness!

Your highlight today: Explore the National Park on forest skis
After an unforgettable night, the next adventure awaits us today. Equipped with snowshoes, we set off on an impressive day tour through the surrounding landscape. We can capture magical landscapes and, with a bit of luck, spot wild animals. Maybe you and your new friends will even have a little race in the deep fresh snow? We return to the hut for lunch. In the afternoon we learn how to make a fire in the traditional way and in the evening we can roast a few sausages around the campfire.
After dinner, we have the option of going on another snowshoe hike in the dark or simply enjoying the endless silence of Lapland around the evening campfire. If we're lucky, we might even see the Northern Lights!

Your highlight today: Through the snow back to civilization
After breakfast together, we clean the hut, pack up the sledges and set off again, as we will make our way back to the starting point on snowshoes or skis. After lunch at the camp and maintenance of the equipment, we collect our luggage and drive to Äkäslompolo to our next and last accommodation, where we can make ourselves comfortable for the remaining days. In the evening we can take a walk to a supermarket to do some shopping.

Your highlight today: Visit reindeer on a farm
Today you can organize your day according to your wishes and preferences. No matter which adventure you choose today, you should definitely have breakfast and lunch.
The first option you have today is to visit a local reindeer farm! Here you have the opportunity to get to know the fascinating animals and learn more about the way of life of the reindeer and their breeders. The highlight will be the ride with the reindeer over approx. 2 km through the snowy landscape.
There is also the option of going on a short snowshoe hike from the youth hostel, hiring a fatbike and exploring the area on a fatbike or going on a ski tour in the nearby ski area. Ski equipment can easily be hired on site.
As soon as we have all met back at the accommodation we prepare a delicious dinner together and recover from today's activities, because tomorrow there will be a lot to experience again.

Your highlights today: Ride a dog sled and get to know Kellokas Nature Center
Get ready to tick off a long-awaited wish on your bucket list - today we're going to a husky farm! After an insight into life on the farm and a short introduction, you will be equipped with your own team of dogs and a sled and set off on a discovery tour through the snowy landscape! There will be two of you on a sled. One as the "driver" and one as a passenger, after half the route you can swap places.
In the afternoon, we go on a guided hike to the Kellokas Nature and Culture Center, which offers us exciting insights into man's dependence on nature. After an educational day, we return to our accommodation, where we return our winter clothing rental kits to our guide. In the evening we gather again to cook dinner together, or enjoy it in a restaurant in the village if we wish.

Visit to the husky farm (approx. 2.5 - 4 hours); husky sled tour (depending on availability approx. 8-15km)

Today we will prepare our breakfast together for the last time and share stories and memories of the past week, because today our Lapland adventure is unfortunately already coming to an end. Afterwards you will have a few last moments to pack or internalize the incredible beauty of nature before we will transport you to the airport or, if you still have a little time, to the town of Levi for some shopping.

In this wilderness hut, you have the opportunity to switch off completely and not be disturbed by the outside world. This is two days of pure digital detox. No electricity, little to no internet connection. There is no running water. The snow is melted for brushing your teeth, drinking, cooking, etc. A real adventure in the wilderness.
Important noteIn accordance with the restrictions of the Metsähallitus office, group tours can only use one of the two cabins at a time, which means that for groups of more than 12 people, half of the group will spend one night in the cabin on the bunk beds and the other half in the tents next to the cabin. The second night is swapped.

This eco-friendly and cozy hotel in Äkäslompolo is the ideal place to relax and enjoy nature. After an eventful day, you can relax here in the evening and, with a bit of luck, watch the Northern Lights. The accommodation also offers many outdoor activities that you can try out. Here you can enjoy pure nature!

What is the minimum number of participants for the trip?
This trip has a minimum number of 4 guests. If this number is not reached 30 days before the scheduled date, TripLegend has the right to cancel the trip.
Can I arrive earlier or leave later?
You can individually plan a few days in advance or add a few days to all our trips, as it suits you best. Of course, we are also happy to give you tips for accommodation!
With whom do I share a double room?
As a standard, you will share a double room with a person of the same sex traveling with you.
What does your collaboration with local partners look like in concrete terms?
For us, supporting locals means working only with local guides, staying in local, family-run hotels, and eating at local restaurants. We often have a social/environmental cause that we incorporate into our trips (from volunteering at a wildlife rescue center in Namibia to the support of Buddhist monks in Nepal in their daily work or visiting a school in a Soviet ghost town in Kyrgyzstan and bringing soccer balls, books, pens, etc.).

Transport
On the day of arrival and departure, only 1 airport transfer is included. Depending on when most of the group arrives, a joint transfer with the guide to the first accommodation with a stopover in Levi will be organized. If you do not want to wait for the group/transfer or arrive later, we will be happy to organize a cab for you.
If the airport transfer is needed on another day, we can arrange it for you for an extra fee.
