Your highlight today: Get to know your fellow travelers
Welcome to Bogotá! After your arrival at Bogotá airport, a private shuttle will take you to your first hotel. Depending on when you arrive, you will have time to explore the vibrant capital of Colombia - a fascinating chaos of new and old, historic and modern, a rapidly growing metropolis. So there is a lot to discover! In the evening you will get to know your fellow travelers of your Colombia group tour at an authentic dinner.

Your highlight today: Experience Bogota on a culinary highlight tour
In Colombia, due to the different climates, regions and cultures, we can expect an impressive variety of dances, music styles, dialects and ethnic groups, as well as food. We will have the opportunity to explore a typical market that offers a huge selection of Colombian fruits, vegetables and other specialties. This market visit will give us an authentic glimpse into the hustle and bustle of a Colombian market. We get to taste different fruits and get carried away by the colors and flavors.
Afterwards, we will take a leisurely stroll through the historic Old Town, where we can sample local street food specialties. During our stroll we will get to know the charming old town better and immerse ourselves in the unique atmosphere of this area. Here we have the opportunity to taste and experience the diverse culinary world of Colombia.
Optionally, we also offer a chocolate workshop:
For those who are interested, we can participate in a two-hour chocolate workshop. Here we will learn more about the history of cacao in Colombia, taste different types of chocolate and even make our own chocolate candies. This workshop is an interactive way to dive deeper into the world of Colombian chocolate. Afterwards, we will have the opportunity to enjoy a typical hot chocolate accompanied by delicious Colombian pastries. This workshop is a sweet complement to our trip, but of course optional and for anyone interested in chocolate.

Your highlights today: Explore the colorful Rio de Colores or the rock formations of Orion Gate
Today, after our overnight bus ride, the first explorations of the San José de Guaviare area await us: depending on the time of travel, today's activities may vary a bit.
Travel time Jun-Nov: Only 8 kilometers from the city is the charming "Rio de Colores", adorned with small waterfalls and different shades of red and green. In the afternoon we will visit the "Pozos Naturales", circular natural water pools lined up in the river and up to 8m deep. They are perfect for a refreshing swim.
Travel time Dec-May: Since the Rio de Colores and the Pozos Naturales may dry up during the dry season, we will visit the "Orion Gate" and the "Túneles naturales" instead. Here you will discover fascinating rock formations and caves surrounded by rich vegetation.
We will end the day at sunset on the Malecón, a promenade along the river.
