Today begins one of the most exciting adventures of your life. After setting foot on Kyrgyz soil for the first time at the airport in Bishkek, your transfer is already waiting to take you to your accommodation. If you arrive in the morning, you can use the day to explore Bishkek on your own before our Kyrgyzstan tour really begins. In the evening we will all get together for a first dinner and get to know each other.

Your highlights today: Learn to build a yurt and see the sunset at Issyk-Kul Lake
Today the way of our Kyrgyzstan round trip leads to Bonkonbaevo village, located on the southern coast of Lake Issyk-Kul. On the way we will take a short hike through Konorchek Gorge. Then at Lake Issyk-Kul there will be an exclusive demonstration of how yurts are made, in which the whole group will participate. This will be done by a local master from Kyzyl-Tuu village, a village famous for making traditional Kyrgyz yurts.
In the evening we will drive to Shatyly Panorama to watch the sunset over Issyk-Kul Lake. After an exciting day we will have dinner together at a guesthouse in the evening.

Your highlights today: Watch an eagle hunt and explore Mars Canyon
Today we will visit the impressive Mars Canyon, where we will watch a demonstration of Ruslan, the master of eagle hunting. Eagle hunting is a part of the culture of nomadic civilizations and thus already a very old tradition in Central Asia. Nowadays this tradition is slowly disappearing and Kyrgyzstan is one of the few countries where a few experienced hunters still keep this old tradition alive.
Afterwards we will explore the enchanting landscape on a short hike and marvel at the Seven Bulls rocks in the Jety-Oguz Gorge. In the evening we will drive to Karakol and enjoy dinner together.

Your highlight today: Explore the ski base in Karakol
Today is our first of two ski days in Karakol. You can rent your necessary equipment at the ski station. There is a possibility to organize catskiing or snowmobiling. If this is your first time on skis, don't worry! We can organize a ski instructor for you.
If you are very adventurous, there is even the possibility of paragliding over the snowy mountain panorama. In the evening we will have dinner together and rest for our next ski day.

Your highlight today: Rushes over Karakol's ski slopes
Today is our second and last ski day in Karakol, so get the best out of the day again! As yesterday, a ski instructor can be organized for the beginners. Enjoy your ski day and the time together, because tomorrow we are already going on. In the evening we will have dinner together again and relax after these two sporty days.

Your highlights today: Explore the ghost town and bathe in hot springs
Today our adventure takes us to the abandoned ghost town of Engilchek, whose ruins we will see on a walk. However, there are still about 20 families living in the town today, with the aim of bringing new life to Engilchek. There is even a small school for the children, for whom we will get some gifts on the way. Engilchek is very remote. If the road to Engilchek is closed due to weather conditions, we will either drive up to the mountain pass and enjoy the view of the snow-covered landscape or visit another traditional village.
Continue through Chon-Ashuu Pass, one of the highest mountain roads in the country. It is a unique place with beautiful landscapes and amazing hot springs. Before going back to Karakol, you will have a chance to bathe in the springs and enjoy the soothing warmth in the cold season.

Your highlight today: Kayak across the Issyk Kul River
Today we will explore a part of Issyk Kul Lake by kayak, enjoying the sight of beautiful nature, impressive mountain ranges and wild birds. After that we will have a look at versatile Karakol and then warm up in hot springs near the city. At the end of the day we will have dinner with a local family.

Your highlight today: Enjoy the last evening in Bishkek
After a delicious breakfast we will start our return journey to Bishkek on our winter round trip through Kyrgyzstan. There we will arrive around afternoon and have another look at the city together. We will spend the evening together for the last time and talk about all the exciting adventures we have experienced on the trip.

Can I rent ski equipment on site?
Yes, the ski equipment is included in the price and you can rent it on site.
Can I book a ski instructor on site?
Yes, you are welcome to book a ski instructor on site to show you the perfect turn. Plan about 50 USD p.p. for this. If you book a ski instructor together, you will have to add about 10 USD per additional person.
Do I need extra clothes for the kayak tour?
No, you don't need extra clothes for the tour, because you will get a water-repellent blanket/tarpaulin for it on site.
Do you offer trip cancellation insurance?
Should you not be able to fly for health reasons, there is a Travel cancellation insurancee.g. from HanseMerkur.
What is the minimum number of participants for the trip?
This trip has a minimum number of 2 guests. If this number is not reached 30 days before the scheduled date, TripLegend has the right to cancel the trip.
Can I arrive earlier or leave later?
You can individually plan a few days in advance or add a few days to all our trips, as it suits you best. Of course, we are also happy to give you tips for accommodation!
With whom do I share a double room?
By default, you will share a double room with a person of the same sex, but you are also welcome to book a single room.
What does your collaboration with local partners look like in concrete terms?
For us, supporting locals means working only with local guides, staying in local, family-run hotels, and eating at local restaurants. We often have a social/environmental cause that we incorporate into our trips (from volunteering at a wildlife rescue center in Namibia to the support of Buddhist monks in Nepal in their daily work or visiting a school in a Soviet ghost town in Kyrgyzstan and bringing soccer balls, books, pens, etc.).

How much should you tip the guide?
The amount of tip is not fixed. However, we would recommend a tip between 30 and 50€ per person for the entire trip (this also depends on the size of the group). If there is a driver for the day in addition to your guide, it would be nice if he also receives between 15 and 25€ per person for the entire trip.
