What awaits you

Hello everyone! My name is Ali and I'm from Ireland! I'm obsessed with traveling the world and having meaningful and authentic experiences. To date I've visited 42 countries and with each new country I fall even more in love with learning about new cultures. I'm excited to invite you on our next adventure to one of my favorite countries: Namibia!!! During our trip, we will have the incredible opportunity to volunteer at a wildlife reserve where we can have a positive impact on the lives of animals in need. We will also go on an exciting safari in the famous Etosha National Park, where we can observe the majestic wildlife in their natural habitat. But that's not all! We will also go on a breathtaking canyon hike in the Namib-Naukluft Park, immerse ourselves in the impressive landscapes and enjoy the beauty of nature. And let's not forget the dune walks in Deadvlei, where we will experience the fascinating sight of the huge sand dunes. Namibia is truly one of my favorite countries in the world, and I can't wait for us all to experience this wonder together. Together we will discover hidden treasures and create unforgettable memories. In Ireland, I organize social walks where I bring together a group of like-minded people to explore what Ireland has to offer. On each walk, I am so happy to observe the most amazing connections and see everyone make lifelong friendships. On this trip I want you all to experience what I have experienced through traveling and organizing events, making new friends for life!!! Everyone is welcome, whether you are traveling with your partner or alone, you will quickly become part of our travel family. So, who is ready to explore this extraordinary African country with me? See you soon on safari Ali X

Round trip Namibia: travel details

Click on individual days for details

You have the option to book your flights separately or to contact us quickly and easily via WhatsApp for a personal flight quote. If you book your flight separately, please plan your arrival so that you arrive at the airport by afternoon at the latest, in order to start our Namibia adventure together in the evening.

After your arrival in Windhoek, you will be picked up from the airport by our private shuttle and taken to the hotel. Ali will be at your side as your host for the next 15 days. Is this your first long-distance trip? Then don't worry - you have a professional at your side. But you can also get some personal travel tips from Ali or simply exchange experiences together. You'll have plenty of time to get to know each other as a group at the welcome dinner.

Dinner

private transfer (approx. 45 km/40 min.)

Chameleon Backpackers

Your highlight today: Listen to the exciting welcome presentation and meet the animals in the Sanctuary for the first time

On the first full day we drive to Naankuse Wildlife Sanctuary, a sanctuary for injured and orphaned wildlife. The animals are cared for and protected here, as their condition would otherwise make it difficult for them to survive in the wild. We as a group will support the staff on site to help the animals get back on their feet! We will spend the night in safari cabins, equipped with private bathrooms under the open sky. This means you can gaze at the endless expanse of Namibian sky directly from the outdoor shower. Be excited!

During the simple but delicious meals you have 3x daily 1 hour internet at a central meeting point. This way you can fully immerse yourself in the Namibian wildlife during the rest of the day.

Breakfast, dinner

private transfer (approx. 50 km/45 min.)

N/a'an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary

Your highlight today: e.g. feeding of the small animals at Naankuse Farm

Every day there will be different activities, depending on which animals are on site at the time of your trip and for what reason. In any case, there is a chance to learn a lot about Namibian wildlife and support a great project. A unique experience that you will never forget!

The following days offer you an overview of possible activities that will be carried out, depending on the situation on site. So be curious - it will not be boring in any case. Look forward to great animal encounters!

Breakfast, lunch, dinner

N/a'an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary

Your highlight today: e.g. feeding the predators

After breakfast together, we will be busy helping out in the sanctuary. Cheetahs, leopards, lions and African wild dogs live here and you will see all these animals right in front of you! Among other things, you will feed orphaned or injured animals and learn how to take care of injuries.

Since the Naankuse area wants to rehabilitate as many animals as possible, we will also take care of the "Animal Enrichment". This is to care for the animals in such a way that they are prepared for life in the wild again. This means that the animals will be prepared for a life in freedom, which they will face after they have fully recovered.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner

N/a'an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary

Your highlights today: e.g. walk with the Baboons and wildlife census

Another possible activity we will do on one of the days in the sanctuary is wildlife counting. We will track and count certain animals in the area during a game drive, discovering all the different species. You will also get to meet the Baboons, with whom you can take a walk. This is a chance you don't get every day, so don't miss it!

Breakfast, lunch, dinner

 N/a'an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary

Your highlight today: e.g. look out for rhinos

Another day in the Naankuse area begins. We will have the opportunity to expand our knowledge of the magnificent elephants. While GPS tracking elephants we will collect their data and why it is so important to record them. Furthermore, as a special highlight, we will go into the bush with the rangers to do conservation work to protect rhinos from poaching.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Jeep tour (about 2 hours)

N/a'an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary

Your highlight today: Enjoy the last day at the Sanctuary

Feeding and feeding animals in need is of course still on the daily schedule. Enjoy the last time for now to get so close to the animals and watch them eat their food. After 1-2 hours our work is done and we have the rest of the day to have a well deserved rest and enjoy the facility. Be sure to take advantage of the lodge's available pool or book a delicious Sunday brunch! Otherwise, explore the beautiful surroundings of the reserve again, or just enjoy the pure sun!

Breakfast, lunch, dinner

N/a'an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary

Your highlight today: Immerse yourself in Windhoek's culture

That's it for our stay at Naankuse Sanctuary. Back to Windhoek where we will explore the city on a city & township tour. We will visit a local market and taste braii. You can spend the evening as you wish - our guide will be happy to give you tips for a delicious restaurant.

Breakfast

private transfer (approx. 50 km/45 min.)

Chameleon Backpackers

Your highlight today: Watch giraffes, rhinos, elephants, zebras and much more

Early in the morning we continue our journey towards Etosha National Park, a huge game reserve where we will have every opportunity to spot diverse wildlife. After arrival we will do our first game drive and drive to some water holes, which gives us high chances to see the animals and the wonderful landscape. Look forward to zebras, giraffes, rhinos, wildebeests, springboks and much more.

At the lodge we can have dinner at the open fire while enjoying the view of a waterhole nearby, where animals are always looking over.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Jeep tour (approx. 4 hours), private transfer (approx. 500 km/5 hours)

Halali Camp

Your highlight today: Experience a full day of safari adventure and enjoy the sunset at the waterhole

Today we have to get up early, but it's worth it, I promise! Early in the morning you have the best chance to see all the animals that live in this area. As the sun slowly rises, we make our way through the park and enjoy the morning light that bathes the whole area in a golden glow.

Our second game drive of the day takes us to the Etosha Pan, a huge dried up salt pan where we can again look for the popular animals: Lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, giraffes and much more. Lunch will be taken at our lodge, where we will have plenty of time for a dip in the pool before heading out for our last game drive of the day, followed by sunset at the waterhole.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner

3x jeep tour (1x approx. 100 km/3 hours, 2x approx. 50 km/1.5 hours)

 Etosha Village

Your highlight today: Learn about the tribes in Damaraland and discover a shipwreck

Today we say goodbye to the beautiful Etosha National Park and move on to Damaraland. On the way there we meet the Herero & Damara ladies who make and sell handmade arts and crafts. With this they support the rural communities.

After that we will have a chance to see the highest mountain in Namibia and a shipwreck on the Skeleton Coast. In the afternoon we will arrive in a small town by the sea, Swakopmund. Here we will end the evening in a nice restaurant by the sea.

Breakfast, lunch

private transfer (approx. 500 km/5 hours)

Hotel A La Mer

Your highlight today: Enjoy the sunset over the Naukluft mountains

Optionally you can go sandboarding or quad biking this morning, which we highly recommend! Afterwards we will drive through the vast Namibian desert and cross the Tropic of Capricorn in Solitaire. After we arrive at our lodge in the afternoon, you can sit back and relax or take a dip in the pool. At sunset we will go for a walk and enjoy the view of the Naukluft mountain range.

Breakfast, dinner

private transfer (approx. 360 km/4 hours)

Desert Camp

Your highlights today: Climb the highest dunes in the world and hike through the surreal Deadvlei

In order not to miss the beautiful sunrise in the Namib-Naukluft National Park, we will leave early. Be excited to see how the rising sun makes the desert landscape shimmer red-gold - a beautiful sight! After enjoying the sunrise, we will take a 4×4 jeep to Sossusvlei and hike from there to Deadvlei. Deadvlei is a large expanse of bleached, cracked clay and skeletal camel thorn trees contrasting with a backdrop of massive dunes. You have the choice of taking the leisurely path or detouring up the world's highest dune - "Big Daddy". From up there you can then slide down over the sand into Deadvlei - it's incredibly fun! On the way home we will stop at Dune 45, which we can also climb, and at a small canyon into which we will descend. A strenuous day, but well worth the effort!

Breakfast, lunch, dinner

private transfer (approx. 100 km/35 min.), 4×4 jeep (approx. 50 km/35 min.)

Desert Camp

Your highlight today: Discover Windhoek on your own

Today we drive back to Windhoek, where we have some time to discover the diverse capital on our own. Everyone can do what they like - perhaps someone would like to visit the museum, try some street food or stroll through the many markets? In the evening, we can have one last dinner together and reflect on the trip with our new friends and Ali.

 Breakfast

private transfer (approx. 400 km/4 hours)

Chameleon Backpackers

After a last breakfast together it's time to say goodbye. We will drive to the airport and maybe you will be lucky enough to be on the same flight, or you will say goodbye to each other with a heavy heart. If you would like to extend your stay and explore the area further on your own, we will be happy to give you tips for additional activities and sightseeing.
