Your first evening in Nepal
After you have landed in Kathmandu, a local partner of ours will meet you and take you to your first hotel. Once you arrive at the hotel, a delicious Nepalese-style meal will be waiting for you to recover from the long journey.
Meanwhile, the evening is at your free disposal. For example, you can explore the vibrant capital on your own, visit a bar, or relax a bit at the hotel.

Your highlight today: Discover the sacred site of Kathmandu
In the morning you will meet your guide for the day, with whom you will explore the Kathmandu Valley and many sacred shrines in neighboring Patan. Among others, the Pashupatinath Temple, the Mahaboudha Temple and the Golden Temple as well as the Boudhanath Stupa; the largest stupa in the world!
What distinguishes a stupa from a temple? When were they built, why and by whom? During a walk through Durbar Square you will get an all-embracing impression of the culture of the old kingdom. Your guide will always be at your side, answering all your questions about the palaces and temples and telling you the most exciting facts about the origin, meaning and myths of the holy places.

Your highlight today: Enjoy the scenic bus ride
Today you will take the public tourist bus to Pokhara, which is a popular city to start trekking routes. Due to the location of the city, surrounded by the snow-capped mountains, it is also called "the Switzerland of Nepal". To get there, you will drive for about 7-8 hours, enjoying the view of admirable rivers. Once you reach your destination, it is up to you to decide whether to walk the last part or take a cab to the hotel.
Depending on when you arrive at Asia Hotel, you will have some time to explore Lakeside. Popular local activities include walking around Lake Phewa, shopping and canoeing.

Your highlight today: Take a sightseeing tour of Pokhara
The guide, who will also accompany you on your trek tomorrow, will lead you through the city of Pokhara today and show you the most beautiful corners of the city. Among other things, you will visit the "Mountain Museum", the "Davis Waterfall" and the "Gupteshwar Cave". In addition, you can still undertake a canoe trip on your own on the Phewa Lake!

Today you will drive to a small mountain village together with your guide, who will also accompany you for the next four days. From there, your first trekking adventure starts with a relaxed four-hour tour through the enchanting Himalayan mountains. You can enjoy the breathtaking views and nature around you and breathe in the pleasant mountain air.
Back at the Mountain Lodge, you can end the evening in peace, relax and sit comfortably together to gather strength for the coming day.

Because at the final destination of your trek, a breathtaking view of the Nepalese mountain group of the "Annapurna and Dhaulagiri chains" awaits you, as well as probably the most romantic sunset you have ever seen!

Your highlight today: Marvel at the sunrise over the Himalayas
Today you have to get up early. Because you don't want to miss the enchanting sunrise high above the Himalayan mountains! To experience this spectacle, you will leave in the early dawn. In the darkness, the snow-capped peaks right in front of you shine in a beautiful glow and thousands of stars shine in the sky. Your way leads up some steps to the "Poonhill"; the highest viewpoint of your trip. At the top, you will be rewarded with the view of the mountain ranges and see how the sun transforms the ice-covered peaks of the Himalayas into a mountain of pure gold! After seeing this beautiful spectacle, you will return to the lodge and then continue to the small village of Tadapani.

Your highlight today: Gets an insight into the Gurung culture
Today your endurance will be put to the test for the last time on another trek. However, this one will also be effortlessly manageable on this day. In addition, a very special highlight awaits you at your final destination! You will meet the Gurung, an ethnic group living in the western region of Nepal, and spend some time with them. Afterwards, you can relax in the mountain lodge and reflect on the impressions you have gathered.

Your highlight today: Explore the diverse city of Pokhara
In the early morning hours you will drive back to the second largest city in Nepal; Pokhara. The city is not only large, but also offers a lot of scope for great activities. Once there, you will say goodbye to your guide, who has accompanied you for the last few days. After that you can organize your day as you like. For example, you have the possibility to drive to the "Sarangkot Viewpoint", to relax at the "Phewa Lake", to enjoy the view from the hotel pool with or without a subsequent massage, or to pursue other activities, such as "paragliding".

Your highlight today: Explore the Chitwan jungle on foot
After a hearty breakfast, you will drive independently to your next destination, the Safari Adventure Lodge, where you will spend the next two nights. Once there, you will change into natural-colored clothing and sturdy, closed and comfortable shoes. Afterwards you will go on a guided hike through the Chitwan jungle. Here you will discover the incomparable biodiversity of the national park with its more than 400 bird species, elephants, rhinos, crocodiles and many other animals as well as its unique flora and fauna.
After finishing the tour and back at the lodge, you can have dinner and end the day relaxing by the pool.

Today you will experience a real jungle safari adventure! It starts with a canoe ride on the Rapti River, whereupon your highlight of today, the jeep safari tour through the Chitwan National Park, begins. Look forward to crocodiles, elephants, rhinos, deer and with a little luck even leopards and tigers in the wild!

Back in Kathmandu, you will be invited to a cooking class with a local family! You will learn to make "momos", which you have probably already eaten several times during your trip. Goodbye Nepal!

What makes this trip different from the Nepal group tour?
This trip is designed for friends/couples who want to travel together as a couple or with friends (bookable from 2 persons). The itinerary is organized by us for you, but offers individual freedom. Instead of a private car and a private guide accompanying you the whole trip, you will only be accompanied on certain activities (Kathmandu city tour, trek, safari). You will travel by public tourist bus (included in the price and booked by us) from place to place, thus benefiting from privacy and flexibility. You will have free times to make your own arrangements and you will not be bound to the times of a group, but you can decide yourself when you want to be where.
How many hours are you on the road during the trek?
The number of hours on the trekking days varies and is of course always dependent on the group dynamics. In general, the hikes are doable with normal fitness, in our itinerary you will find the altitude meters and approximate hours. Our guide is always there for you and together you can enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
How does it work with the luggage during the hike?
For the hikes you need a backpack that weighs no more than 15 kg, which is carried by the porter. In addition, you need a small daypack for you for water and your personal belongings. The rest of your luggage that you do not need during the hike can be stored in the hotel.
Do I need to pack special clothes in winter?
You can find all the info for the different seasons in our Packing list. Especially in winter, we strongly recommend you to bring very warm clothes, as it can get very cold during the hike, both during the day and at night.
Do I need my own sleeping bag?
A sleeping bag is optional, as there are plenty of warm blankets on site. Nevertheless, you are welcome to bring your own sleeping bag if you like.
Is there a minimum age for permission to participate?
You must be at least 18 years old to participate in the trip without a parent or guardian.
Is the trip also suitable for children?
The trip is not best suited for children under the age of 5, as the hike may be too long for young children.
If I travel with my children: Are there discounts up to a certain age?
Children under 3 years travel free of charge. Children between 3-10 years pay half price.
Are there also triple rooms?
Yes, if there are three of you, you are welcome to sleep in a triple room.
In which period can the trip not take place, due to weather conditions?
From June - August the trip is not suitable (monsoon season).
How are you doing with travel in times of Corona?
If the trip cannot take place due to Covid, you can rebook for another date or trip free of charge or get your money back. Feel free to check our page Covid safe travel where we have collected some FAQ around the topic.
Do you offer trip cancellation insurance?
Should you not be able to fly for health reasons, there is a Travel cancellation insurancee.g. from HanseMerkur, which (also) covers a covid infection before the start of the trip.
Can I arrive earlier or leave later?
You can individually plan a few days in advance or add a few days to all our trips, as it suits you best. Of course, we are also happy to give you tips for accommodation!
What does your collaboration with local partners look like in concrete terms?
For us, supporting locals means working only with local guides, staying in local, family-run hotels, and eating at local restaurants. We often have a social/environmental cause that we incorporate into our trips (from volunteering at a wildlife rescue center in Namibia to the support of Buddhist monks in Nepal in their daily work or visiting a school in a Soviet ghost town in Kyrgyzstan and bringing soccer balls, books, pens, etc.).
