Your highlight today: Get to know the Argentine cuisine
Once you arrive in Buenos Aires, you can relax and our transfer will take you to your first hotel. When you arrive in the morning, you will have some time to look around Buenos Aires. In the evening you will meet your fellow travelers and together you will have the opportunity to discover the cuisine of Argentina over a fantastic 5-course dinner, taste exceptional wines and discover the local dishes of the country during an interactive cooking class.
Your highlight today: Learn the Argentine Tango
Already on the first full day we will get into the action and get to know Buenos Aires better on a city tour. Let the diverse city surprise you!
In the evening we will get to know the rhythm of Argentina and get to know the national dance of the country during a private dance lesson. As we all know, you have to practice what you have learned in order not to forget it and so we will take you to the milongas. Milongas are informal gatherings where locals dance tango and end the day in a pleasant atmosphere.
Your highlight today: Explore Salta and San Lorenzo
For now we leave the capital of Argentina and head for Salta! After landing there, we will have a closer look at the small town at the Andes.
In the afternoon we will take a short hike in the adjacent San Lorenzo, where we can admire the green, fertile nature, which is a great contrast to Salta's aridity.
Your highlight today: Explore Tolar Grande
We drive south of the valley of Lerma, which takes us into the Puna region. We will visit the mining town of San Antonio de los Cobres, where we will have lunch at a local restaurant and continue to Tolar Grande in the afternoon. Tolar Grande is the central town from which all tours to the more remote areas of the Puna start. This will be our base camp for the next two days.
Your highlight today: Watch flamingos at Laguna Santa Maria
After breakfast, we head to the Ojitos de Mar, where we will be surprised with the observation of microorganisms that are 3,400 million years old. After a good explanation and the visit of this highlight managed by the municipality, we head north to Laguna Santa Maria. The lagoon is one of the few lagoons where flamingos find food, allowing this unique bird species to nest throughout the summer. After visiting the lagoon, we will drive back to Tolar and spend a fun afternoon in the nearby sand dunes.
Your highlight today: Discover the vastness of the salt desert
We continue our Argentina tour and after breakfast we leave Tolar Grande for Puna, a remote high mountain desert. We will drive through the Puna to Salinas Grandes, a huge white desert of salt crystals, where we can walk and take photos. We continue to San Francisco de Alfarcito, a small community where the lifestyle that the Kollas (indigenous people) lived hundreds of years ago is still maintained. Today, the inhabitants farm the land and plant beans, corn and different varieties of potatoes, which is due to ancestral traditions and ways of life.
Your highlight today: Drive over the Cuesta de Lipan
We visit Barrancas and continue to one of the highlights: Cuesta de Lipan, a winding road that takes us up to 4,200 meters above sea level. As we descend to Purmamarca, we are accompanied by the impressive colors of the surrounding mountains.
We make a short stop at a village in the canyon known for its "Cerro de 7 Colores" (Seven Colors Mountain). We will visit the village and then drive another 30 minutes to the town of Tilcara, where we will reach our hotel in the late afternoon.
Your highlight today: Explore ancient sites, hike Ladies Hill and marvel at mountain panoramas
Today we will visit an archaeological site called Pukara de Tilcara. This is one of 22 archaeological sites and the only one that has been developed for tourism since the early 1940s.
In Uquia we hike for 2 hours up the impressive and colorful Cerro Las Señoritas also known as "The ladies hill".
After lunch we will drive to Hornocal. The Serranias de Hornocal are a mountain range located 25 kilometers from the town of Humahuaca in the Argentine province of Jujuy.
Your highlight today: Explore the Humahuaca Canyon
After breakfast, we will drive back to the Quebrada de Humahuaca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a one-hour drive, we stop for refreshments in the town of San Salvador de Jujuy at the southern end of the Humahuaca Gorge, where forested hills meet the lowlands.
Arriving in Salta we will take the flight to Iguazu and dive into a completely different world. Because in Iguazu, in addition to the jungle-like rainforests, the largest waterfalls in the world are waiting for us tomorrow!
Your highlight today: Marvel at the Iguazu Waterfalls
Today we set out to visit the Argentine side of the Iguazu Falls. These are located within the Iguazu National Park, with an area of 67,000 hectares, one of the first protected areas in the Americas. The falls consist of 275 waterfalls that plunge from an average height of 70 meters. In this piece of subtropical forest, during our walk we can admire the great variety of fern species, orchids, begonias, birds and butterflies.
Your highlight today: Ride a bike through Iguazu
Strengthened after breakfast, it's on and off we go. Almost 7 km ride along the famous streets of Puerto Iguazú until we have a short break in La Chacrita. After a little refreshment, a short walk through the jungle leads us to the riverbank, where we can cool off at the Mbocay waterfalls.
In the afternoon we will make our way back to the hotel, as our flight to Buenos Aires is still to come. Arriving once again in the capital of tango, we will visit a bar and finish our last evening there.
After a final breakfast at the hotel, we will ensure a smooth transfer back to the airport, from where you can catch your flight home or for your next destination. If you would like to extend your stay and explore the area further on your own, we will be happy to make suggestions for additional activities.
If you book your flights separately, you can flexibly plan your return flight on the day of departure.
We'd love to have you back for the next adventure!

What does your collaboration with local partners look like in concrete terms?
For us, supporting locals means working only with local guides, staying in local, family-run hotels, and eating at local restaurants. We often have a social/environmental cause that we incorporate into our trips (from volunteering at a wildlife rescue center in Namibia to the support of Buddhist monks in Nepal in their daily work or visiting a school in a Soviet ghost town in Kyrgyzstan and bringing soccer balls, books, pens, etc.).
