Your highlight today: Take part in a Buddhist blessing!
Join us on a two-day adventure unlike any other, combining culture, craziness and local hospitality! The first day begins with a fascinating market tour that will immerse you in the vibrant colors and flavors of Siem Reap. We then visit a tranquil pagoda to attend a blessing and gain an insight into Buddhism.
After this eventful morning, we hop into the tuk tuks and set off on an adventure. On the way, we learn about the art of rice wine making and of course there's a tasting too! Time for the highlight: brace yourselves, it's time to learn how to drive a tuk-tuk! We continue our adventure and head to Kampong Khleang, a charming floating village where you can immerse yourself in local life! Spend the night in an authentic homestay and end the day with a barbecue and perhaps a glass of rice wine.

Your highlight today: Sunrise tour through Angkor Wat
Today we set off in tuk tuks at 5:30 a.m. for sunrise. We reach the mystical Srah Sarong or "King's Bath" at around 6 am, just in time to see the sunrise over the water and the temples. After sunrise, we cross the road to visit the fabulous jungle temple of Ta Prohm first. Ta Prohm is particularly impressive in the early morning, when you can just hear the sounds of the jungle before the crowds arrive.
The Angkor Archaeological Park is one of the most important archaeological sites in Southeast Asia, if not the world. The park stretches over 400 km2, including forested areas, and is home to the magnificent remains of the various capitals of the Khmer Empire from the 9th to 15th centuries. You could spend weeks exploring the ruins, but on this day tour we have the opportunity to see all the highlights.
After Ta Prohm, we visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom, where you can take a quiet, optional 1 km walk along the wall and through the jungle to a hidden temple to enjoy your breakfast packet. We then visit the temples of Bayon, Baphuon and the Terrace of the Elephants and the Leper King. The early afternoon is reserved for a visit to the main temple Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is one of mankind's greatest achievements and the intricate carvings in the temple of Angkor Wat show the skill of the Khmer master builders. It was built in the jungle in the early 12th century and mysteriously abandoned by the Khmer civilization two centuries later. Today, Angkor Wat is the main reason for tourists to visit Cambodia. After a long day of exploration, we return to Siem Reap. The rest of the day is at leisure and can be spent relaxing.

Your highlight today: Visit the temples of Sambor Prei Kuk!
After breakfast, we meet our tour guide in the hotel lobby and start our journey to Kampong Thom. Once there, we continue our journey for about 30 minutes to Sambor Prei Kuk to drive through local villages and rice fields.
After lunch in a local restaurant, we visit Sambor Prei Kuk, which was the capital of the Chenla Kingdom.
The ruins are widely scattered and as Sambor Prei Kuk is rarely visited we will have enough time and space to explore. We will visit the three main temple complexes Prasat Sambor, Prasat Tor and Prasat Yeah Puon on foot and enjoy the beautiful ruins in peace. After the temple tour, we will visit a noodle village. Many of the families make Khmer noodles as a basic income. On this tour, we will meet a family that makes noodles and our guide will explain the production process to us. Afterwards, we can try making the noodles ourselves and enjoy them afterwards.
After visiting the village, we continue our journey to Phnom Penh.

Your highlight today: Explore Tuol Sleng Prison and learn about the country's history!
Beautiful historic buildings, aromatic street food on every corner, endless markets and monks walking past you on the streets. Phnom Penh is not just another metropolis - it's old Asia. This fascinating city with a dark history of war and unrest is now full of vibrancy and warmth.
Today we go to the sacred site of Wat Phnom, where a stupa and a small pagoda from the 14th century await us. It is the highest religious building in the city. We continue to Tuol Sleng Prison, which is housed in a high school, to gain an insight into the devastating atrocities that took place during the Marxist movement in Cambodia. This excursion may be harrowing for some, but it is an important piece of Cambodia's recent past. Afterwards, we take part in an excursion to Choeng Ek, also known as the "Killing Fields", located just outside the city.
In the late afternoon, we are picked up from the hotel and take a tuk tuk to the riverside of Phnom Penh, where we board a traditional slow boat. On one side of the river lies bustling Phnom Penh with its tall commercial buildings and on the other side the traditional countryside with Buddhist pagodas. We also pass some local riverside villages with traditional floating houses and markets. After an enjoyable cruise on the river, we return to the city and take a walk along the riverside back to the hotel.

Our Cambodia Essentials trip is a compact version of our trips. By omitting some activities and meals, we were able to significantly reduce the costs for you. We have also adjusted the number of meals included.
Do you offer trip cancellation insurance?
Should you not be able to fly for health reasons, there is a Travel cancellation insurancee.g. from HanseMerkur.
What is the minimum number of participants for the trip?
This trip has a minimum number of 8 guests. If this number has not been reached 8 weeks before the planned date, TripLegend has the right to cancel the trip.
Can I arrive earlier or leave later?
You can individually plan a few days in advance or add a few days to all our trips, as it suits you best. Of course, we are also happy to give you tips for accommodation!
With whom do I share a double room?
By default, you will share a double room with a person of the same sex, but you are also welcome to book a single room.
What does your collaboration with local partners look like in concrete terms?
For us, supporting locals means working only with local guides, staying in local, family-run hotels, and eating at local restaurants. We often have a social/environmental cause that we incorporate into our trips (from volunteering at a wildlife rescue center in Namibia to the support of Buddhist monks in Nepal in their daily work or visiting a school in a Soviet ghost town in Kyrgyzstan and bringing soccer balls, books, pens, etc.).
