After landing at the airport in Kathmandu, your guide will be waiting to take you to your accommodation for the night. You will spend your first evening and the first night of your round trip through Nepal in a beautiful hotel in the heart of Kathmandu. After you have had time to arrive relaxed, you will have the opportunity to get to know your fellow travelers over dinner. Afterwards, you can enjoy a traditional Nepalese dance show - or maybe you'll even get up and dance yourself?

Your highlight today: Explore the temples of the Kathmandu Valley
Today we will explore Patan, the second largest city in the Kathmandu Valley. Here we can immerse ourselves in the culture and history of Nepal and this special city. The Durbar Square allows us to immerse ourselves in the times of long-gone kingdoms, while the Buddhist shrines, temples and stupas give us a feel for the religious way of life of the Nepalese. After some refreshments, we continue on to one of the largest stupas in the world, the Boudhanat Stupa. We can walk around it and learn about the happiness that the stupas are said to bring to their visitors. At the end of the day, we visit the Swayambhunath Stupa, which offers a perfect view of the sunset due to its high position.

Today we will travel to Pokhara, also known as the "Switzerland of Nepal". The country's second largest city is located directly on the deep blue mountain lake, surrounded by a number of snow-capped peaks. The rest of the day is all yours! With one laughing and one crying eye, we say goodbye to the most beautiful city in Nepal today to drive for an hour to a small mountain village. This is where our exciting trekking adventure begins. Today starts relaxed with a four-hour tour. You can look forward to a wonderful view, which is characterized by the huge peaks of the Himalayas. And believe me, the elevation gain feels much easier with this view! In the evening, we'll have enough time to relax, sit together and recharge our batteries for the day ahead.

Even though it will be a bit more challenging today than yesterday - the trail can be mastered without any problems and without any previous hiking experience and will be worth it, because a breathtaking view of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges awaits us at the finish. Enjoy the deep red sunset and a delicious dinner with new friends.

The early bird catches the worm, as the saying goes. At dawn, we head to a place that will amaze us. Watch as the sun transforms the ice-covered peaks of the Himalayas into a mountain of pure gold before we fortify ourselves for the upcoming hike towards Tadapani with a hearty breakfast. Our hike today covers a total of over 2500 meters in altitude - a figure we can be really proud of in the evening. But with breaks and great views, we also manage this hike together.

Your highlight today: Immerse yourself in the Gurung culture.
Today our stamina will be put to the test for the last time on the Nepal tour, but with a great guide and a unique group, that won't be a problem! Once we arrive at our destination, we get to know the Gurung, an ethnic group that is at home in the western region of Nepal. We then drive back to Pokhara and fall into our beds tired after 4 exciting and exhausting days of hiking, as we can feel in our legs what we have achieved over the last few days.

Your highlight today: Explore the diverse city of Pokhara
In the early hours of the morning, we make our way to the picturesque mountain village of Sarangkot to watch the magical sunrise along the mountain peaks. We then return to Pokhara and fortify ourselves with a hearty breakfast. The rest of the day is at leisure. The city has many activities and beautiful views to offer. For example, you can drive to the Sarangkot Viewpoint, go shopping, canoeing, walk along Lake Phewa or do whatever else you feel like doing. Pokhara is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Nepal! Or you can rest a little from the strenuous days of hiking and gather your strength for the exciting program points in the next few days. If you book an extra activity, such as paragliding, you will do this today.

Your highlight today: Immerse yourself in monastic life and meditate with monks.
Today we will head back towards Kathmandu. However, instead of going to the city center, today we will visit a Buddhist monastery where we will meet monks and their practices. We will be able to eat, pray and meditate with the monks. The perfect environment to reflect and relax all the past impressive days. In the evening we will take part in a painting lesson - perfect to switch off and creatively process the many experiences.

Your highlight today: Learn to make momos
Our last full day is dawning. On the way back to the center of Kathmandu we will visit the temple of Pashupatinath. Afterwards we will take part in a cooking class with a local family - finally we will learn to make momos ourselves! The traditional Nepalese dumpling tastes even better when homemade - and is a great skill to bring home. The evening is free for us, for example to buy souvenirs, or just to enjoy the last time together with the group.

What is the difference between the original Nepal tour and the Nepal Essentials tour?
Our Nepal Essentials trip is a more compact version of the original Nepal tour. By omitting the Chitwan National Park, the rafting and a cultural day in Kathmandu, we were able to significantly reduce the costs for you. We have also adjusted the number of meals included. However, the accommodation and the rest of the program have remained the same!
How many hours are you on the road during the trek?
The number of hours on the trekking days varies and is of course always dependent on the group dynamics. In general, the hikes are doable with normal fitness, in our itinerary you will find the altitude meters and approximate hours. Our guide is always there for you and together you can enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
How does it work with the luggage during the hike?
You will need a rucksack for the hike, which you will carry yourself. We recommend no more than 10-15 kg. The rest of the luggage that you do not need during the hike can be stored in the hotel.
Do I need to pack special clothes in winter?
You can find all the info for the different seasons in our Packing list. Especially in winter, we strongly recommend you to bring very warm clothes, as it can get very cold during the hike, both during the day and at night.
Do I need my own sleeping bag?
A sleeping bag is optional, as there are plenty of warm blankets on site. Nevertheless, you are welcome to bring your own sleeping bag if you like.
Do you offer trip cancellation insurance?
Should you not be able to fly for health reasons, there is a Travel cancellation insurancee.g. from HanseMerkur.
What is the minimum number of participants for the trip?
This trip has a minimum number of 2 guests. If this number is not reached 30 days before the scheduled date, TripLegend has the right to cancel the trip.
Can I arrive earlier or leave later?
You can individually plan a few days in advance or add a few days to all our trips, as it suits you best. Of course, we are also happy to give you tips for accommodation!
With whom do I share a double room?
By default, you will share a double room with a person of the same sex, but you are also welcome to book a single room.
What does your collaboration with local partners look like in concrete terms?
For us, supporting locals means working only with local guides, staying in local, family-run hotels, and eating at local restaurants. We often have a social/environmental cause that we incorporate into our trips (from volunteering at a wildlife rescue center in Namibia to the support of Buddhist monks in Nepal in their daily work or visiting a school in a Soviet ghost town in Kyrgyzstan and bringing soccer balls, books, pens, etc.).
