There we visit the Key Afar market, which takes place every Thursday and is visited and maintained by the Derase, Tsemay and Bena peoples. We then explore a Konso village. The Konso are known for their tradition of erecting wooden tombs to mark the resting places of important leaders and warriors. They are elaborately decorated with the distinctive features of the deceased. These poles are also erected to symbolize the transition of a generation into adulthood. However, these can then be found on the village square. We then head to our hotel for today, which is also located in Konso.
