1. Chitwan National Park

Chitwan National Park covers an area of about 932 square kilometers and includes both forest and wetland areas. It is one of the oldest national parks in Nepal and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. The park is home to an impressive variety of wildlife, including the Bengal tiger, the one-horned Indian rhino, leopards, crocodiles and over 500 species of birds. Exciting elephant safaris are offered for up-close wildlife viewing. The park also offers glimpses into the culture of the Tharu, an indigenous people group that lives in the region. Here, traditional Tharu dances, music and handicrafts can be explored.

2. Sagarmatha National Park

Sagarmatha National Park is located in the Himalayan Mountains in Nepal. In 1979, the park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The national park covers an area of 1,148 square kilometers and is home to some of the highest peaks in the world, including Mount Everest. Sagarmatha National Park is home to diverse animal species. Among them are the snow leopard, the Himalayan thar, red deer and various bird species. The region is known for its rich flora. These include various species of rhododendrons, birches and pines. The park offers numerous trekking opportunities. These include the famous Everest Base Camp, where breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks are possible. In addition to the stunning scenery, Sagarmatha Naitional Park also offers glimpses of Sherpa culture. The Sherpa are a local population group living in the region.

3. Bardia National Park

Bardia National Park is located in the Terai region of southwestern Nepal and is one of the largest national parks in the country. The park covers an area of 968 square kilometers and is home to the Bengal tiger, the Asiatic elephant, the Indian sloth bear and various species of deer, among others. The park is also known for its bird diversity, with over 400 species. Among them are herons, storks and eagles. In Bardia National Park you have the opportunity to do a lot of things. Jeep safaris, elephant rides and bird watching are among the unique offerings. Bardia National Park also offers insights into Tharu community that resides in the region.

4. Langtang National Park

Langtang National Park is located in the central region of Nepal and is part of the Langtang Mountains. The park has an area of 1,710 square kilometers. It is known for its breathtaking scenery of snow-capped peaks, deep valleys, dense forests and clear rivers. The park is home to rare and endangered animals such as the red panda, the Himalayan thar, the snow leopard and many bird species. The Langtang trek is a popular activity in the park. It passes through picturesque villages, past Buddhist monasteries and offers spectacular mountain views. Langtang National Park is also an important place for exploring the culture and traditions of the Tamang people, an ethnic group from the region.

5. Annapurna National Park 

Annapurna National Park is located in the central region of Nepal and is part of the Annapurna massif. The park covers an area of 7,629 square kilometers and is famous for its impressive landscape and diversity of animal and plant species. Many wild animals, including the snow leopard, the Himalayan thar, the red panda and several bird species feel at home here. The park offers a wide range of trekking tours. The Annapurna Circuit, considered one of the most beautiful treks in the world, is one of them. Spectacular views of the majestic peaks of the Annapurna massif can be enjoyed during the trek.
